Carrie; a spine-chilling read
This book we had to read for High School English, and I thought I would be scared out of my skin. I don't do horror, like I jump so easily. But, I read this book, and I feel like I should praise it. I didn't know what to expect, and I was throughly scared, but not in the jump-scare kind of way. I was riveted in knowing more about the family dynamic that Carrie grew up in, and what would be the breaking point. We then watched the movie in class (because a horror movie for a bunch of 15 year olds is a great way to keep attention). Stephen King may be the only horror writer that I could handle, and I give him a tip of the hat for a good novel.
