Golden Shadow; Do not find yourself in a web of lies

This is a book that was requested to me by the author, LC Perry. it is set in a dystopian society, with slaves and powerful masters. We follow Ebony, a mining slave, and her journey with a band of rebels, seeking to end slavery in their world. She is important, someone who was gifted powers, powers that she does not know about in the beginning. Ebony's determination in her struggle to be free, to see the light outside of the mines is truly inspiring. We are hit with quite a few character, and I honestly had to make a spreadsheet to understand who was who. Though, I do find it nice that not all the characters are your stereotypically bunch of young, white adults; rather, it is a bunch of diverse individuals with the same goal in mind, free themselves and others around them. It is a nice introduction into the world that Perry has started, and I am excited to see where things lead in the next installments. I hope to continue in this trip with Ebony, the rebels, and Princess Irene.
