Simon vs the Homosapien Agenda; it truely needs no introduction

So this read was a recommendation from my amazing roommate. The reason for this recommendation is because of the new movie; Love, Simon; that came out last friday (3/16). So, I got a copy and I decoded to have a read. Boy, was that worth it. It is honestly a feel good high school romance, with so many relatable qualities that makes it worth a read. Simon Spier is the main character, a high school student with a secret, he's gay. But, the problem is that he has not come out yet. Something that I love about this book is that Simon is a regular person, he is not a stereotypical idea of what 'gay' should be, but he is just a normal guy with friends, a crush, and a bond with an email penpal.

That email relationship is what makes this book something real, because Simon is trying to figure out who he has been corresponding with, and from that, forms a crush on someone. Like who hasn't had a high school crush that was "so dreamy" (my words, not the book's). I love how honest the book is, like even though Simon is gay, that is not who he is alone, he is a brother, a friend, a son, and a person. He is multifaceted, loved, and so complex it feels like he's one of your friends. And I mean, who hasn't gone to Waffle House with a group of friends for the hell of it (If you are from the Southern region of America)?

If you want a book that can leave a smile on your face, give you a laugh, make you remember high school, and leave a good feeling in your heart; take your time and read this book. It is so worth it.
